PROFILE OF MR. SEMIU OLUWASANU KADRI

Mr. Semiu Oluwasanu Kadri was born in Epe in Lagos State on 23rd April, 1970.

He had his primary education at St. Theresa’s RCM Primary School, Epe 1974 -1980. For his secondary education, he attended Epe Grammar School, from 1980 to 1985 and later Anwar-ul-Islam College, Agege, 1986 – 1988.

Having obtained the relevant pre-requisites, he secured admission into the prestigious University of Lagos, Akokain 1988 where he studied Economics. He did his National Youth Service in Osun State, Ipetumodu Grammar School, 1993.

He joined the Lagos State Public Service on 15th January, 1996 as Planning Officer II GL. 08 in the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget. He was deployed to Plans, Programmes and Budget Bureau, Parastatals Monitoring Department. From March 1998 to July 2000, he was redeployed to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation as pioneer staff of the Family Economic Advancement Programme (FEAP) Department which metamorphosed into the current Poverty Alleviation Department.

In 2000, he was posted to the Office of Chief of Staff as a member of the Governor’s Speech writing team in the Speech Writing Department. From July 2003 to May 2007, he served as Speech Writer in the Office of the First Lady and also played a key role as well as became Head Speech Writing Department, Office of the Chief of Staff in June 2015 until his appointment as Permanent Secretary on May 7th, 2024 and was deployed to the same Office as the ninth Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Chief of Staff.

Professionally Mr. Kadri is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), member of the Nigerian Economic Society and Fellow, Association of Human Resource Practitioners of Nigeria.  

His hobbies are reading, travelling and watching football. 

Mr. Semiu Oluwasanu Kadri is happily married to AlhajaRisikat Abimbola Kadri.
