Office of the Chief of Staff – Lagos State Government
Mrs. Akanbi Adenike Ganiat (Nee Taiwo) a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) was born on 11th March, 1964.
Her sojourn in the Accounting Profession began at Lagos State College of Science & Technology (now Lagos State University of Science and Technology) where she bagged a National Diploma in Accounting in 1982. She later proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic in 1983 for a Higher National Diploma in Accounting.
After a brief stint in the Oil and Gas Industry, Mrs Akanbi joined the Lagos State Civil Service in 2000 as Accountant 1 on GL 09 and was upgraded to the post of Principal Accountant on GL 12 the same year.
She has served in various capacities in many MDAs among which are Ministry of Finance (STO), Ministry of Establishment & Training, Ministry of Economic Planning & Budget, Ministry of Education (District V), Public Works Corporation, Lagos State University Hospital (LASUTH). She was the Director (Finance & Accounts) in the Office of the Chief of Staff until her appointment as Permanent Secretary on 7th April, 2023 and deployed to the same Office.
She is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and Fellow Institute of Financial Managers (UK).
Mrs. Akanbi has attended several local and International courses on Financial System strengthening which included International Federation of Accountant (IFAC) conferences in various countries. She also participated in several Human Capital Development Conferences.
She is happily married and blessed with children and grandchildren.
