Mr. Gboyega Soyannwo was born on 3rd October 1968. He had his primary education at the Corona School Victoria Island, Lagos from 1974-1980 and his secondary education at the prestigious Kings College, Lagos from 1980-1985. He thereafter proceeded to the Federal School of Arts & Science for his A-Levels which he successfully completed in 1987. He thereafter sought and was granted admission into the University of Lagos from where he graduated in 1992 earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons.) Degree in Economics. Gboyega Soyannwo also holds an MBA (General Management) from the revered Lagos Business School.
Gboyega Soyannwo started his career at the Central Bank of Nigeria in 1992 as a Youth Corp member. He subsequently worked in the following institutions where he served in various capacities: Financial Services Consultants Limited, STACO Insurance Plc., National Bank Of Nigeria Limited (now WEMA Bank Plc). Zenith Bank Plc. and Oceanic Bank International Plc (now Eco Bank Plc.), where he left in December 2009 as the Group Head – Commercial Banking to join the First Class Group Limited as Director, Finance and Strategy.
Mr. Gboyega Soyannwo is a seasoned professional with strong competences and proven track record in Banking, Finance, Performance Management, General Administration and Strategy. He is indeed very Passionate about strategic leadership and effective management.
Gboyega spent the earlier years of his banking career taking up responsibilities that sharpened his leadership and talent management skills. He has been a creative problem solver who consistently demonstrates excellence in the efficiency, productivity and quality of his work.
It is a matter of public record and credit to the irrepressible personality of this highly respected professional that he led a team of young bankers some years back in pioneering a Strategic Banking Unit to optimal profitability running into billions of Naira within an 18 month window, a clear testimony to Gboyega’s result oriented approach and his ability to compete effectively and consistently deliver results through innovativeness and resilience.
A well rounded professional with over thirty one (31) years’ experience in Banking, Financial Services, General Management and Strategy, effectively combines sound scholarly background with vast multi-sector experience making him a prime candidate for result driven performances across the private and public sectors.
Gboyega Soyannwo is the immediate-past Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) to the Lagos State Governor (2019 – 2023).
His re-appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) to the Governor of Lagos State on June 8, 2023 is a testament of his diligence, selfless service to the State and great commitment to the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu / Obafemi Hamzat Administration during the first term from May 29, 2019 to May 26, 2023.

Gboyega Soyannwo is married to Yewande Soyannwo and they are blessed with children.
